Hello there,

I was just browsing and the MSARS came to mind, from a very long time ago. So I looked it up and found you guys 🤓 !

My name is Philip Tory, licenced for decades as G3VMQ. I was a founder of Mid Sussex Amateur Radio Society, way back in my teens, about 60 years ago.

I am 76 now, very much retired! I now live in Gloucester. Back then I lived at 10 Park Road, and at the bottom the road, on the corner opposite the park, was the local Youth Club, and that's where the Radio Club used to meet

I used to go to Haywards Heath Grammar School, where our technical drawing teacher was Tim Hughes, G3GVV. He ran a Radio Club at school, and that started my love of electronics. I did my Amateur Radio course at a Tech College in Brighton.

Eventually I went to Bath University, where I did a degree in Applied Physics with Electronics, and ended up on the design team for the Concorde flight computers.

So, amateur radio was a great launching pad for a wonderful career. May it encourage you all too.

Thanks for keeping it all going!

God bless you all.

Sincerely, Philip Tory.
